Seeing Red at Goodwill

Good Morning. The sun is shining and it is a lovely Wednesday is Rednesday. I wasn't sure what to show everyone who is participating in this punch of color little party hosted by Sue at It's A Very Cherry World, that is until I stopped into Goodwill the other day. There were tons of red clothing and other fun red items, and lucky me, I just happened to have my camera.

This outfit consists of an Old Navy stripped shirt and chino's each at $4.99. The sunglasses are brand new at $2.98 and the sneakers $2.99. With this outfit you are ready for a stroll along the beach, shopping at the mall or a picnic at the park.

Here are several shirts at $4.99 each except the one on the far right, a brand new with tags shirt from Chico's for $7.99. The red polka dot shirt next to it is from Talbots. Scarves and a belt at $1.99 would complete any outfit.

Sweaters $4.99.

A red prom dress, brand new with the tags, only $14.99. When my daughter was in high school, she bought all her prom dresses at Goodwill.

Yes you can even buy brand new, with the tags, a red bra or two. $4.99.

For the guys, how about a red hat? Although the "Harley Girl" hat with flames would more than likely be a gift from the hubby. Hats $1.99.

Nothing says love more than Campbell's Soup with Grandpa. $.99 cents each.

After you finish your soup, you can settle down for movie night and make your own popcorn. Popcorn maker $7.99. Really, what can't you find at Goodwill?

The most important Red of the day, is this cart. Please use it to load up your donations to bring to the Goodwill store nearest you, and then fill it back up with your purchases at the store. Both your donations and purchases go to help a lot of folks on so many levels. Plus you end up with a cleaner closet and maybe a few fun vintage finds. It is a win/win situation for all. If you would like more information on the history of Goodwill, Linda at A La Carte had posted this little history segment back in March, please click here to read.

I had a few more outfits to show you featuring some GAP, L.L Bean, Jones of New York pieces; however, a few of my put together outfits disappeared before I had a chance to snap a photo. I guess a few ladies liked what I had assembled.

Please be sure to stop by and see what everyone else is showing for Wednesday is Rednesday with Sue at It's A Very Cherry World.

Okay as you can tell, I was playing with effects in Picnik. I promise I won't try using the red effect again. Honest.

Have a great day.
Sherrie

Hi Sherrie ... I love your post.. and I love the Goodwill! ...In fact, this morning I'm going to the Goodwill 'warehouse' .. I've never been there but I'm told that you 'dig through barrels' .. can you stand it?! .. and besides that, an arm full of 'treasures' can only cost you about two bucks. :^)
After people dig through the barrels what's left goes to the dump ...so I hear. ..My daughter went and said she got some really great stuff, including some garden art and some vintage things for the kitchen ... I wish you could go with us.... but I will post my tressures .."I'm so excited" ...lol
Hugz ..Betty
PS .."I LOVE RED"!

Hi Sherrie,
I love the red outfits!! You always find the most amazing things at your goodwill. And your photos look fantastic! Isn't picnik the greatest?!! I could spend hours fixing up my photos. I like the red matte effect, it fits perfect with your photos!
Have a great week sweetie!

I'm always so happy to visit you Sherrie, because I just love your blog header! It's got all the things I love in it!
I would love to go shopping with you at Goodwill, because I am hopeless when it comes to clothes shopping. You definitely know how to put together an outfit! And I never thought to look for prom dresses for my daughter at Goodwill. It would have saved me so many hundreds of dollars!
Happy REDnesday!
Carol

I just stopped into a Goodwill on Monday in Tucson. Didn't see all the great red that you captured but did have a wonderful time shopping! Your pictures are great, thanks for posting and sharing. : )

Your post is great and would make anyone want to find their nearest Goodwill store. Wish we had one closer. Our nearest one is an hour away, not too far for a weekend shopping spree. My son loves Goodwill. He's found those name brands he loves to wear, some with the tags still on, too! Makes that college shopping dollar stretch. So glad he's that money conscious. Great place to shop! Thanks for showing the world "No-one can tell when you shop re-sale"!

I hope they didn't mind you "window dressing" and snapping shots. They probably thought you were from a magazine or something! I'm so glad you had your camera with you!

What a fun post! I love to play around at the thrift stores. People always look at me as if I have a few bricks short of a full load. I have done a lot o "tablescapes" using a table on sale at the store and gathering different items to see if they all work together.

Someday I am going to be brave enough to walk into a local thrift and start snapping pictures. You had me going with the Red GW cart- I kept thinking, are they not all blue?

As much as I love the thrift stores, next week is he begining of Garage Sale season! Yipee!
