5th Annual One World One Heart

*Note to my blogging friends. My computer died after my last post "Blue or Bleu?" and I apologize that I was unable to respond in a timely fashion to all your wonderful comments or be able to stop by and visit with all my blogging friends. I lost all my documents, my clip art and all my photos! Can you say external hard-drive.... lesson learned. Thank you for your understanding of my MIA. Thank you*

5th ANNUAL ONE WORLD - ONE HEART

Hard to believe that another year has passed and that it is time once more for the Annual One World One Heart blogging extravaganza event. This year is the 5th Annual and sad to say the last One World One Heart, journey around the world. I just wanted to say thank you to the fabulous event creator and hostess, Lisa for doing such an amazing job.

One World One Heart is a worldwide event for bloggers only. It gives all those who blog a chance to meet and mingle and form connections with those they may not have otherwise met from all over the world. In the past 4 years this event has grown to over 1,000 participants with lasting friendships (and even one love connection) formed along the way. Think of it as a GIGANTIC open house allowing you to travel without ever leaving your home........going from blog to blog(in various countries) seeing the wonder each one has created and meeting all the fabulous people behind those blogs. As a bonus each blogger participant will offer up a "door prize or prizes"....just for dropping by, saying hello and seeing their world.

A year ago I had just started blogging and it was such a big world then, full of possibilities and unknowns. It is still a big world, but the blogging friends I have met along the way, have made it seem a friendlier, safer and smaller place. Because of these friends' support, in July, I opened my shop, 2nd fl Thriftiques (Please see the shop's button on my sidebar if you would like to visit). It has been so great to meet fellow bloggers that have stopped by to visit and become real friends along the way; people from out-of-town and out-of-state that knew of me only from my blog.

Last year I introduced myself and a little bit about my home State of Maine (Please click here to see). I am still a resident, a-Maine-born-and-raised gal and so I thought I would welcome my visiting guests by offering a few Maine-themed goodies. Here is just a sampling of "My Taste of Maine Bag" that some lucky visitor will receive when this party ends on February 17th. I have more photos to post of the rest of the prize package.

A Lobster cloth napkin and embroidered lobster canvas wine tote. These are paired with a "lobster tail" BBQ Fork (a conversation starter for sure at your next backyard BBQ) and vintage costume jewelry at its best, a painted lobster pin. There are also 2 wooden nautical decorations. For those of you who may not know, nothing is tastier than freshly caught Maine lobster ..... served hot with melted butter or cold in a Lobster Roll. Hard to believe that the Pilgrims used lobster as a natural fertilizer when planting their crops.

BBQ Lobster Tail Fork

As you can guess by the blog title, I l
ove to shop at Goodwill, so everything you see here has come from the Goodwill store as new merchandise; except the lobster pin which is a vintage find.

Vintage Lobster pin.

All you have to do to win these goodies and more, is please leave me a Howdy, Hello, Good Morning, Good day and be sure to let me know what place you call home. Let's make the world a little smaller..... let's join Lisa in this wonderful and fun journey around the world. I look forward to visiting you. For your invitation, please click on the button at the top of my sidebar or click here. Thank you.

Got it at Goodwill

Looks like I'm #1 ... hooray! I'm from Kansas City currently. We used to drive through Maine yearly to get to Nova Scotia. Love Route 9... my kids used to call it the roller coaster road... but then they updated it and took out the curves and hills! Love Maine lobster, blue berries and the ocean!

I am really interested in that pin! Perfect for summer I think. I love Goodwill too.

Hello there - your blog name really drew in me in! I'm a British thrift-shopper living in France, but I remember my mum shopping at the Goodwill when we lived for a while in the States! Your giveaway is great fun and it's nice to meet you. I really love your blues in the post below, too. The French have their own brand similar to Pyrex, and I am beginnning to collect some of that in a blue forget-me-not pattern - it's lovely!

Hi Sherrie, it is so very nice to meet you. I am originally from Nova Scotia, Canada (right across the Bay of Fundy from you), but now I live just outside of Williamsburg, VA. We generally drive to Nova Scotia every summer to visit family, and our travels always takes us through Maine, which I truly adore. I think it is because Maine does remind me of Nova Scotia in so many ways... including the winding roads, rocky coastline, fresh air, etc. Sometimes we take the CAT back and forth from Portland to Nova Scotia.
I must say that your gift package is absolutely fabulous (did I mention that I LOVE lobster?) and I have nothing here in VA that represents lobster. Shame on me! Would you please throw my name into the hat for a chance to win?

I would love for you to hop on over to my blog for a visit. I am #78 on the OWOH participant list.

my teenaged son and I spent almost a month touring up the East coast last summer and we loved Maine.
